I really liked this deck of social media influence partners told through the story of The Godfather. The presentation lists a number of people that measure influence which might help you identify influencers of your brand.
This is a presentation about Transmedia with some examples that we have seen before and some new ones as well. I like the idea of Transmedia experiening the story of OUR lives, not how we experience stories or brands.
(Special thanks to Micki Boas for the recommendation)
I wanted to share a great post by Thoughts in Color about Propagation Planning:
Goal
To convince older people with no internet to install VOO Internet.
The idea/insight behind the campaign
(Grand)parents love their grandchildren, but they never seem to know what the youngsters are up to. They often don’t have internet and most of the time they are not aware of all the interesting pictures, videos and websites that are shared online between family members. If they want to never again miss out on everything their loved ones do, they have to get online.
Instead of talking directly to them, VOO and Boondoggle (the agency) decided to get the message across by the people who are much more influential than traditional media: their (grand)children. Propagation planning at its finest.
How it worked
Internet provider VOO gave everyone who has internet a one-time opportunity to share online pictures, videos or websites with their (grand)parents who don’t have internet. How? By sharing it the most classical way: via snail mail. A YouTube video was transferred on a VHS cassette. A Facebook/Flickr picture was printed out. Everything was sent in an envelope with a handwritten address. The result was a 100% personalized Direct Mail, sent by a close relative of the receiver. People could even share their Facebook status update on teletext (I had forgotten that existed).
Another great example of propagation planning and the fact that everyone can be an influencer.
I like a number of things on this list including indoor mapping, e-Book Sharing, Electronic Profiling, F-Commerce, Home Energy Monitors, Long Form Content, Near Field Communication, Objectifying Objects, Rum, Social Objects, Tablets for Tots, Transmedia Producers and Virtual Mirrors
